Carrie Douglass

Carrie McPherson Douglass serves as chief of staff to the president of the U.S. Program Division and leads strategy, planning, and management for the division. Her role includes advising on investments across K-12 education, early learning, postsecondary education, pathways, economic mobility, assessments, and data.
Carrie has more than two decades of experience in public education, having served as a teacher, school leader, district administrator, and local education funder. She was a twice-elected school board member and co-founded School Board Partners, a national nonprofit that supports school board members in leading with courage and competence to achieve impact for students.
Carrie has a B.A. in education and music from the University of Portland and an MBA from Boston University. She is a Pahara Fellow, a NewDEAL Leader, and an alum of Education Pioneers and the Broad Academy. Carrie also owns two small businesses and remains deeply committed to improving education and workforce systems so all people can thrive.
