Boniface Njenga
Boniface Njenga leads the foundation’s work to improve the delivery of health services in Africa through innovative health system solutions.
Boniface joined the foundation in 2024 after 20 years working in the private sector and in international nongovernmental organizations. Most recently, he served in various technical and managerial roles at the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. He led blended finance negotiations that resulted in the inclusion of Global Fund investments in malaria case management in the South Sudan Health Sector Transformation Project, and he developed the Health Products Management component of the Global Fund–supported National Strategy Financing for Rwanda. He also supported the development of health sector sustainability and transition strategies and governance mechanisms for Eswatini.
Boniface grew up in the Great Rift Valley in Kenya, where he experienced health service delivery challenges firsthand. This spurred his passion for improving social welfare and reducing poverty through innovative health system solutions at the international, regional, and local levels.
Boniface has a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and a Master of Healthcare Administration.
