Allison Hein

Allison Hein leads strategic initiatives to promote the Gender Equality Division’s overall effectiveness, impact, and culture. She focuses on cross-division strategy, operations, governance, and executive engagement.
Allison joined the foundation in 2013 as a financial planning and analysis business partner to teams in the Global Development Division. In that role, she led financial and portfolio management and worked with partners on organizational effectiveness. She has since led strategy, planning, and management activities, designed and implemented business processes across teams, divisions, and international offices, and served as a key advisor to foundation executives.
Before joining the foundation, Allison worked at Bill and Melinda Gates Investments. She is a chartered financial analyst.
Allison has an undergraduate degree in finance from Florida State University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
