to inform members of Congress that 1) U.S. investments in vaccine research and development are working, 2) that there are some exciting new directions in vaccine research that could lead to new or improved vaccines for many of the most intractable infectious diseases, for which we do not have vaccines or only partially effective vaccines, and 3) to provide an outline of the resources needed that could dramatically accelerate these advances
