Hunger has increased this year due to conflict, extreme weather events, and the economic slowdown from the pandemic. Smallholder farmers are facing challenges in accessing crop inputs and coping with severely reduced incomes. The pandemic has shown the importance of providing markets and decision-makers with information to tackle hunger and poverty and to adapt to the impacts of climate change.
