Analía Porrás
Dr. Analía Porrás leads a team that oversees the foundation’s strategic engagement with the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF and the work on products access, introduction, and scale across Global Health Institutions.
In that role, Analía applies her technical and strategic expertise in improving access to critical medicines and other health technologies in low- and middle-income countries, her deep understanding of global markets and end-to-end strategies, and her extensive experience working with countries and global health institutions.
Before joining the foundation in 2023, Analía held various roles at Pan American Health Organization/WHO, including chief of the Medicines and Health Technologies Unit, where she led efforts to improve access to quality, effective, and safe medicines and health technologies in the region. Earlier, she was a research fellow at the National Institute of Child Health and Development and a lecturer and scientist in the Department of Microbiology at the University of Buenos Aires Medical School and the National Research Council of Argentina. She started her medical career as a resident in a public hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Analía grew up in Buenos Aires. She earned an M.D. from the University of Buenos Aires, a Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology from Northwestern University, and an M.Sc. in health economics, policy, and management from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
