To our future neighbors in the Queen Anne and Seattle Center area:

We want to let you know about an upcoming power line project related to the 500 Fifth Avenue North site. This project will relocate overhead power lines and also install underground power lines. The work is expected to begin this month and last through the end of September.

During the week of June 19, Seattle City Light plans to deliver and begin installing new power poles at the site, including two large Glulam poles. Glulam (or glue-laminated) lumber is wood glued together to create a stronger pole than the standard wood pole.

The power line relocation is expected to begin the week of June 26 and will require digging in the road and sidewalk areas along Broad Street at the Harrison Street intersection, and in Harrison Street west of that intersection.

To help minimize traffic impact, the majority of the work in the road is expected to be done at night (most likely Monday through Thursday 9 P.M. to 7 A.M.). Work along the Broad Street sidewalk is expected to occur during the day.

We appreciate your patience as we work on this project.

For questions about this construction work, please contact:  Scott Redman at Sellen Construction at 206-805-7133 or scott.redman@sellen.com
